What Is an Image Print Size Checker?

An image print size checker reads your image's pixel dimensions and calculates how large it can be printed at a given resolution. The core relationship is simple: divide the pixel count by the PPI to get the physical size in inches.

How to Check Image Resolution for Printing

  1. Upload or drag your image into the checker above.
  2. Look at the maximum print size table for 300, 240, 200, and 150 PPI.
  3. Enter a specific print size to see its effective PPI and quality grade.
  4. Review the recommended sizes that match your resolution.

How PPI Affects Print Quality

This checker assesses pixel resolution, not actual printed sharpness. Image focus, compression, printer, paper, and viewing distance also affect the result.

PPI (pixels per inch) measures how densely your image's pixels are packed when printed. More pixels per inch means finer detail. The same image printed smaller has a higher PPI and looks sharper; printed larger, the PPI drops and individual pixels become visible.

What Is a Good PPI for Printing?

300 PPI is the widely used standard for high-quality photo prints viewed up close. 200 PPI is often acceptable for larger prints viewed from a distance. Below 150 PPI, you may notice visible softening or pixelation.
